Mission and Vision
At Octagon Professionals, we are all about evolving. We began as a trusted HR and staffing partner and have grown into a purpose-driven organisation dedicated to empowering international institutions through public diplomacy and heritage protection. Our mission remains rooted in the values that defined us: integrity, cultural understanding, and a people-first approach. Today, we apply these strengths to building cross-border partnerships, strengthening societal connections, and supporting the preservation of cultural identity. By combining decades of global operational expertise with a renewed strategic focus, we help organisations create sustainable impact, foster meaningful engagement, and protect the global communities they serve.
The Hague – 1987
The beginning
Founded by Tasoula Hadjitofi, a refugee who understood the challenges of global mobility, Octagon was created to empower international professionals in the Netherlands. Our first breakthrough? A revolutionary ‘Big Data’ project for Shell International.

The Hague – 1990
The Breakthrough
By 1990, we were implementing groundbreaking paperless office solutions for clients such as Shell and the European Space Agency. We united top talent – from Silicon Valley to South Africa – proving global reach was in our DNA.
The Hague – 1995
Outpost
In 1995, our ‘Outpost’ program helped expatriate families integrate, a solution so successful that Shell adopted it in 67 countries. We built communities, not just careers.

Walk of truth – 2011
Safeguarding Culture
Walk of Truth is an NGO dedicated to safeguarding cultural heritage worldwide. Created in 2011, Octagon invested in Walk of Truth because its mission reflects our own core values: protecting culture, celebrating diversity, and fostering understanding across borders. Together, we uphold a shared commitment to preserving the stories, identities, and heritage that connect communities around the world.
The Hague & beyond – 2025
Going Global
With over 20 nationalities, we bring cultural intelligence to every partnership, bridging operational gaps for international organisations like Europol and the OPCW. This is the Octagon difference.
